Luis Alejandro Asmar

Luis is the co-founder of Retire & Invest DR. He has extensive experience in general and health insurance sector, currently serving as the Vice President of APS Insurance for the Caribbean region, a position he’s held since 2017.  In addition, he’s the founder of Compass Financial Advisors, a company focused on financial, tax and M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) advisory services.  

Over the last 10 years, his work has been focused in the Latin American region addressing political, economic, and commercial issues. Though his main office is in the Dominican Republic, Luis has established a network of strategic partners in the most important cities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
 
He’s served as vice-chairman for the Alejandro Asmar Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged families and their children by supporting educational and sports programs throughout the Dominican Republic.
 
Luis has a major in business and marketing from UNIBE, as well as an International MBA from Lynn University. 

Maria Abreu

Maria, co-founder of  Retire and Invest DR, is the CEO  of Abreu & Associates, a law firm practicing exclusively in the area of Dominican Republic Immigration and Nationality law. The firm serves as trusted advisors in all practice areas of immigration law.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Maria,  at the age of 30, decided to migrate to the Dominican Republic became a naturalized citizen, thus she has experienced firsthand all phases of immigration and naturalization process. Maria began her practice with the sole intent of providing one-to-one service to all of her clients and adheres to the fundamental yet critical business philosophy of total customer satisfaction.

She anticipates the needs of clients, and seamlessly adapts services and support to the client's evolving personal and business needs.  
 
Her interest in immigration law stems from her personal experience and background, her belief in the essential role immigrants play and the positive contributions they make to Dominican society, and her desire to help people of all backgrounds achieve their goals. 


 
Abel Aldebot
Abel, a principal at Abreu & Associates and IslandLife Investment Realty based in Santo Domingo, is an expert on immigration and real estate in the Dominican Republic, who’s been servicing international clients, particularly in North America, for nearly 10 years. His unique experience and knowledge allows him to be able to help his clients develop real estate purchase strategies around their residency and citizenship plans. He’s  established a network of trusted real estate developers with diverse product offerings from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana. 
Cheryl Henderson
Cheryl is an experienced, international real estate professional with a background in investment, rehabs, flipping, and managing income-producing properties. Over the past 13 years, as broker-owner of REMAX Tropical in the Dominican Republic, Cheryl and her team have been dedicated to helping clients find properties as a second home and/or investment specifically along the DR’s south coast including Punta Cana, Bavaro, Cap Cana, and Casa de Campo. 
Helen Mitchell
Since 2007, Helen, originally from England, along with her husband Douglas, have been helping real estate buyers in Las Terrenas, situated in the DR’s Samana Peninsula. Having lived and worked in Samana for the last 12 years, Helen and her team at Beachtown Property Real Estate are experienced and knowledgeable about this market which ensures that both buyers and sellers are receiving the most up-to-date and reliable information to make the best decisions regarding their real estate transactions. 
Bismarck Hernandez
Bismark serves as the Executive Assistant Director of the Higher Institute for Defense. He’s also a colonel in the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD), Professor at the University of the Caribbean, and the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Osaka Cooperative. His background is in Naval Science, International Relations, and Security. He’s an expert in international crisis management and national security with credentials from University of Carlos III in Madrid, Spain and the International Leadership Institute in Histadrut, Israel.
